I am very excited this year as I have
found a woman who grows the variety "Roma". I have been in love with this variety for forty years. It was my mother's favorite as well. We love it for it's pulp. This tomato is not all juice and seeds. The farm stand is on county road eighteen- I pass on my way home from work.
As a young wife I was a very ambitious canner. My brain is in this pattern where in I am compelled to do some canning with my free time. I could buy my tomatoes out of a tin, but where is the fun in that? My daughter cans as well. I cold pack my tomatoes. I dip them in boiling water to remove
the peels then quarter them an stuff them into pint jars. This batch will be pressure canned.
